Two Tier Limestone Fountain with a Turned Baluster Stem
Two turned limestone dishes climb a baluster stem out of a stepped square plinth at the centre of a wide circular basin, so the water falls twice before it settles. The basin itself is laid up from ashlar blocks under a moulded coping, with a panelled skirt around the base. Photographed in the yard at Ancient Surfaces before crating, in full sun, where the golden tone of the stone shows best. Reclaimed and restored for grand lawns, circular drives and formal pool gardens.
