Octagonal Limestone Courtyard Fountain at a Stone Villa

The octagonal basin sits low against a herringbone terracotta terrace, its moulded rim worn round at every corner, and the tall square pillar rises past the window of a limestone villa to a stepped cornice cap fitted with scrolled iron spouts. The amber and grey staining across the stone belongs to the piece, not to the setting.
