Limestone Frog Fountain with Carved Stone Frogs

Eight carved stone frogs sit around this fountain, two facing each other in the upper dish and the rest perched on the buttresses and the basin rim, which turns a formal piece into something a family actually smiles at. Underneath the humour the construction is serious: a wide circular basin of coursed blocks on a double stepped base, and a faceted baluster stem carrying the upper dish.
