At Ancient Surfaces we are committed to preserving the elegance and history of architectural antiquity. We reclaim and restore antique limestone pool fountains, turning basins that watered villages centuries ago into the quiet centre of gardens being built today. Running water is where a garden gathers, and we think it deserves stone with something behind it.
Our artisans specialise in reclaimed limestone fountains of every character. French village basins with scrolled iron spouts, Italian urn bowls carved with lion masks, wall fountains with long single block troughs, and plain octagonal basins where the stone does all the talking. Each limestone fountain is cleaned, stabilised and conserved with respect for the patina it arrived with. We are careful never to restore that away.
Ancient Surfaces has appeared on the front covers of Architectural Digest in May 2011 and LUX Magazine in November 2012, which says something about how our limestone fountains and architectural antiques are regarded within the design world.
