Octagonal Limestone Fountain with a Quatrefoil Bowl on an Acanthus Stem

An octagonal basin in deeply fossilised limestone, moulded at the rim and the plinth, carrying a raised bowl cut to a quatrefoil plan with a pinecone finial at its centre. The baluster stem beneath is wrapped in carved acanthus and stands on a plain square pedestal, so the ornament is concentrated exactly where the eye goes. Pitted, mineral flecked and grey cream throughout. Ancient Surfaces reclaimed and conserved this limestone pool fountain for walled gardens, cloisters and courtyard terraces.
