Round Limestone Village Fountain with a Ball Finial Pillar

A circular reclaimed limestone fountain built the old way, from curved blocks laid up into a rolled coping above a panelled skirt. The octagonal centre pillar is banded at the shaft, capped with a moulded cornice and finished with a carved ball finial, and two scrolled iron spouts turn out over the water. Shot in the studio on black, the honey and grey mineral staining across the stone becomes the subject. Ancient Surfaces reclaimed and conserved this antique limestone fountain for courtyards, walled gardens and pool surrounds.
